Internal Medicine Board-Style Questions & Answers
How well prepared for your Boards are you? What will it be like in that exam center? MedStudy’s Board-Style Questions & Answers can give you a reliable answer to both questions. With these Q&As, you can gain confidence about knowing what you need to know and also get comfortable with the test-taking experience.
MedStudy offers compilations of self-testing Internal Medicine (IM) questions and answers in book form and in interactive software programs. Importantly, virtually all questions are Board-style, meaning they are presented very much like actual questions on the ABIM Board exam, with a clinical stem (including lab values) followed by posing of the question along with four or five options for single best answer. The content includes explanations to point out why the single best answer is correct and the other answer options are not, and also to clarify the clinical decision-making.
MedStudy publishes these questions in individual volumes and issues a new volume approximately once every two years. There is no duplication in content between volumes, and all questions are relevant for current Board exam preparation. Volume 3 has 555 Q&As and Volume 2 has 552 Q&As. The new Volume 4 has 533 Q&As and comes enhanced with extensive medical images. Each volume is sold separately.
Whether you order the book format (one book for Questions, another book for Answers and Explanations) or software format (CD-ROM or via direct download from the web), the questions, answers and explanations included in each volume are the same.
Comparison of Product Features
In both print and software versions, the MedStudy Q&A products sort questions by specialty/subspecialty for efficient organizing of your self-testing study. Both offer an “open book” approach to studying if you prefer, or you can use either format to do realistic self-testing. The software format allows for bookmarking selected questions you choose, searching by keyword, separately reviewing incorrectly answered questions, and more. In addition, the software program automatically times your study sessions, instantly scores and tracks your performance, and compiles a report card with results broken down by specialty/subspecialty. The book form allows for the traditional “book-learning” approach to studying and offers ample space in which to jot personal study notes.

CME
MedStudy designates Volume 4 for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity (one hour = one credit). Although the Q&As in Volumes 2 and 3 are still effective in preparing for the ABIM exam, CME credits for these volumes have expired.
